Trump adds gold-script signage outside of Oval Office

As President Trump departed the Oval Office on Wednesday for his trip to Florida, reporters could clearly tell what room he was exiting thanks to new signage added along the outside of the building.

Photos and videos showed that there was a new gold-script sign that said “The Oval Office” next to the entrance to the room near the Rose Garden. Photos appeared to show that the signs were pieces of paper adhered to the wall.

The signage is the latest change Trump has made to the White House, and to the Rose Garden and surrounding area in particular.

The president tore up the Rose Garden grass and replaced it with stone pavers, turning it into a patio akin to his Mar-a-Lago property. He has added a “Presidential Walk of Fame” along the colonnade, which features portraits of all former presidents, except for former President Biden.

Trump has also demolished the East Wing to make room for a planned ballroom that will host major events. Trump had initially said the ballroom would not affect the existing White House structure.

Inside the building, Trump has posted photos of a remodel he oversaw to the Lincoln Bathroom, and he has redecorated the Oval Office interior with numerous gold accents and portraits on the walls.
