Musk cheers Trump’s pick to lead NASA Jared Isaacman

Elon Musk on Tuesday lauded President Trump’s decision to renominate Jared Isaacman to lead NASA after pulling his nomination in May.

The tech giant posted a heart, rocket ship, and American flag emoji on the social platform X, along with a screenshot of the president’s statement on Truth Social announcing the move.

“Jared’s passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era,” Trump wrote in a Tuesday Truth Social post.

The decision to pull Isaacman came days after Musk left his White House role in a public feud with Trump.

Isaacman worked alongside Musk at SpaceX to fund the company’s first private spacewalk, and he was one of four astronauts aboard the Polaris Dawn flight.

The entrepreneur who founded Shift4 testified before the Senate in April as a part of the confirmation process and advanced out of committee in a 19-9 vote.

A White House official originally suggested Isaacman was pulled because he was not in “complete alignment with President Trump’s America First agenda.”

However, the decision to reassign him to the role suggests Musk’s detente with Trump has some staying power.
